Opening the Building

1. Unlock Front Entrance

Use the key to unlock the front door on Market Street and display the “OPEN GYM” sign to indicate that the facility is about to be ready for members. Ensure that the building keys remain with you at all times.

Re-enter the building through the front door; it will lock automatically behind you once you enter.

Enter the building foyer through the wooden door and leave it propped open to allow ventilation during setup. However, if the outside temperature is below 65°F (18°C), do not leave the door open to maintain a comfortable indoor environment.

2. Enter the Gym and Power On Systems

Go up to the gym level and immediately head to the breaker panel after unlocking the gym entrance.

Turn on all breakers to activate lighting and essential systems throughout the facility.

3. Inspect Opposite-Gender Locker Room

Conduct a quick inspection of the opposite-gender locker room to ensure it’s clean and orderly. Organize and tidy up any items that require attention, place shower rugs on the floor, pull down shower curtains, and wipe down sinks to ensure they are clean.

Perform any necessary touch-ups, keeping an eye on time since the gym must be fully open by 6:00 AM on weekdays and 8:00 AM on weekends.

4. Prepare Rear Entrance

Retrieve the key for the back gate from the middle drawer of the front desk.

Exit the building through the front door on Market Street, and walk around to the rear of the building, reaching the gates on 16th Street.

5. Open Rear Gate and Enter

Use the key to unlock the padlock, then lift the gate to allow access through the back entrance.

Enter the building through the rear entrance, leaving the rear gate open, and proceed back through to the front entrance.

6. Open Front Gate

At the front entrance, unlock and raise the front gate, making the gym accessible to members and guests from all sides of the building.

7. Return to the Gym Floor

Return to the gym floor to complete any additional setup tasks and prepare for the arrival of members.
